In 2017 ADS accepted the challenge of developing and manufacturing a heated headlight lens with integrated electronic controls embedded into the lens itself.
Since modern energy-efficient LED based vehicle headlights don’t generate enough heat to be self defrosting in winter, ADS used its experience in printing conductive inks and InMold Electronics to develop this award-winning technique. In addition to its heat generating ability the lens material had to be suitable for the rugged exterior demands of a modern vehicle.
In accepting the IMDA innovation award ADS demonstrated its ability to deliver.
